((WOMAN)) // a playlist

On my only full weekend home in March, I took a trip to see Maggie Rogers perform live in Portland, Maine. I had spoken about the impact her music had on me in a previous post; how it helped me through the toughest collection of months in my life where there was an immense amount of change occurring and I felt lost. I'd listen to her album while driving down the back roads at night or in the morning sunlight pouring through my window on a Sunday morning. She helped me get my feet back on the ground and inspired me to create again.

Maggie is like no other when she performs. She dances around the stage like a firecracker, singing with the entirety of her heart and soul until there is nothing left. She pours every ounce of energy and passion she has into each second of her set. As amazing as her album is, it does not capture the powerful spectrum of vocals she contains.

In honor of March being Women's History Month, I want to share one of my playlist that I've made dedicated to my favorite female artists. It consists of songs by Solange, Maggie Rogers, Florence and The Machine, Joy Crookes, Willow and many other inspirational and powerful women. This playlist can be listened to anywhere and at anytime—on car rides down windy roads on the cusp of midnight, in the early morning sunlight or in the kitchen, dancing, while writing poetry, thinking, journalling, and simply while embracing you, no matter what you identify as.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Until next time,
take care,
