Originally created as a poetry final, Growing Pains captures the tense emotions of my first four months away at college in New York. It is told in five parts through a collage of photographs, journal entires, and paintings with eight original poems. The collection is a reflection capturing the difficult transition from the safety of childhood to the unknown of independence and learning to let go of the comfortable in order to grow.
I am extremely proud at how this project turned out. This is my first ever chapbook of poetry and the most poems I have ever shared. Though these past few months have been the hardest months I have faced, I am immensely grateful for it because it has shaped me as a person and more specifically, a woman. I hope this collection inspires you to grow from your hardships and that you enjoy every part of it (especially the adorable baby photos).
take care,
